Steffl-Bäck restarts after a fire

The Steffl-Bäck bakery in Austria restarts after a fire and during Corona.

Even in these difficult times, we put our ovens and cooling concepts into operation on schedule and before the planned winter season: here at our new customer Steffl-Bäck in a modern, environmentally friendly new building in the Ennstal in beautiful Austrian Styria. The bakery's production burned down in 2019 - just one year after Sebastian Knapp took over the family business from his father. After the disaster, things are finally getting better again: with a new concept and new building, a new chapter begins. The production was equipped with modern bakery ovens and cooling technology from WACHTEL.

Together with our Austrian partner Karner Bäckereitechnik, we were on site for the installation and commissioning. The Knapp family is now equipped for all kinds of baked goods: 2 rack ovens, 3 cooling cells, 1 deck oven with loader and 1 proofing room have been installed in the new production. Austria also attaches importance to environmentally friendly systems, so electric ovens are subsidized by the state.
